NWI Group is composed of five divisions – Weighing, Instrumentation, Fabrication, Systems, and Calibration. We are an Australian leading supplier of weighing and instrumentation equipment, supplying Australian businesses and individuals weighing and instrumentation goods from world-class manufacturers. As well as this, we have a comprehensive calibration department that calibrates, services and repairs a wide scope of equipment. Our fabrication division focuses on the in-house manufacturing of metal fabricated solutions and goods including but not limited to weighbridges. Our developing software department specialize in delivering customized software solutions to help our clients automate their processes, streamline their operations, and enhance their overall efficiency.

We operate across all states in Australia, and we understand our responsibility to promote and enforce human rights, labor rights, and fair practices throughout our business activities. Limiting modern slavery practices makes good business sense, protecting our workers and our reputation. It also supports us in assessing and addressing modern slavery risks as required by modern slavery legislation.

2) The reporting entity’s operations, structure, and supply chains

NWI Group consists of several subsidiaries, divisions, and associated entities involved in our operations, supply chain, and business activities. Our supply chains extend globally, encompassing suppliers, contractors, agents, and other third parties.

3) Assessment of modern slavery risks

We have conducted a thorough assessment to identify potential risks of modern slavery in our operations and supply chains, including those of the entities controlled or owned by NWI Group. This assessment encompasses geographical locations, industries, suppliers, labor practices, and other relevant factors.

4) Actions taken to assess and mitigate modern slavery risks

NWI Group is committed to addressing and mitigating modern slavery risks. To achieve this, we have taken the following actions:

1. Implementation of Policies and Procedures: We have developed and implemented robust policies and procedures including a Modern Slavery Policy that explicitly prohibit modern slavery practices. These policies cover various aspects, including labor rights, human rights, ethical practices, and compliance expectations.
2. Supplier Engagement and Due Diligence: We engage with our suppliers to communicate our expectations regarding modern slavery and require them to adhere to our Supplier Code of Conduct. We conduct regular due diligence, assessments, and audits to verify compliance and address any identified risks or concerns.
3. Employee Awareness and Training

   We provide comprehensive training and awareness programs to our employees, ensuring they understand the risks and signs of modern slavery. They are encouraged to report any suspicions or concerns through our confidential reporting mechanism. We identify that some areas of the business are likely to have more exposure than others, including procurement and sourcing, human resources, finance, risk, sustainability, projects, legal, and leadership.

   Examples of specific responsibilities include:

   1. (a) participating in all training, including in our Modern Slavery Policy;
   2. (b) leading by example by making appropriate checks on all employees, recruitment agencies, suppliers, etc to ensure we know who is working for us;
   3. (c) remaining alert to indicators of slavery outlined in our Modern Slavery Policy;
   4. (d) using only approved contracts which include modern slavery clauses; and
   5. (e) obeying our instructions regarding modern slavery.

   NWI Group maintains a confidential reporting mechanism that allows employees, suppliers, and other stakeholders to report any suspected cases of modern slavery without fear of retaliation.
